Things to do in San Sebastian

The beautiful landscapes and outdoor lifestyle make many people return. You don’t go to San Sebastian just once.

Surfers come all year round to enjoy the waves at Zurriola beach, while others come to hike or enjoy the sunny days. There are four different beaches. In San Sebastían no one gets bored.

SURFING

Surfing in Europe started in the Basque Country! Head to SinFin Surf Club in Gros to rent all your gear!

GO FOR A HIKE

San Sebastian is surrounded by hills and nature. Go out and explore this area by foot! The Saint James way passes San Sebastian, at the end of the Zurriola Beach you will find the Ulia mountain, here you can follow a part of this hiking trail to the next village of Pasaia. It takes around two hours. You can take a bus back to San Sebastian. 

SPA

At La Perla you will find saunas and saltwater baths with views over La Concha.  Pictured is one of the five pools, the "piscina relax" !

DRINKING

Atari and Sirimiri have the best cocktails in Old Town! Or head to Gintonerria in Gros for the famous Gin & Tonic.

Pinxtos

Pronounced peen-chos, these bite sized gastronomical wonders are all around the Old Town. Grab a plate and select your favorites from the bar or order some from the kitchen!

CHURCHES

Check out one of the many churches around the city! Here, is Buen Pastor, which you can see from almost anywhere in the city.

At the end of the Port, discover extraordinary fish at Aquariummss. It is one of the largest in the Basque Country!

BEACHES

La Concha & Ondaretta
are perfect for relaxing and swimming. In the summer they bring out platforms with slides and divingboards!

Zurriola is great for surfing and volleyball. Enjoy surf all year, if you can handle the cold!

PIENE DEL VIENTO

Take a seaside walk around La Concha to see the interactive sculptures just below Monte Igueldo. When the waves roll in, gusts of air blow through, giving you a nice suprise!

MUSEUMS

If you are interested in art and architecture San Telmo is worth a visit! If you are in town on a Tuesday, entrance is free.
